I used to paint in a quite tight and controlled manner, but felt I had lost any sense of poetry in my paintings. Now I hope more to show the emotion a subject evokes within me not a literal description. I still keep to a representational style however, I do like abstract art, but am content to employ abstract areas within the painting, then as you mention in your comment, hint towards the features I would once have laboured over in detail. <br />Les.Les Stoneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02216693250071236356noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-461462139610705765.post-19641309058868597822015-02-26T14:21:05.330-08:002015-02-26T14:21:05.330-08:00Thanks for you comments Carol,

Your style of brushwork and color harmony are what I'm looking for in my own work. These paintings are great examples of not dwelling on exactness to the original scene or photo, but rather trying to communicate and express a particular feeling or impression. I actually see MORE in a painting when time and place and conditions are hinted at instead of delineated. Bravo! I look forward to your next post.Carol Flatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13280091225563623507noreply@blogger.com
